Colleague Search Tips
- Searching by such personal information as social security numbers, addresses etc. may prove fruitless as
this kind of information generally isn't kept on the web
- If you have the email address of your searchee, include this in the search
field with their full name
- Put quotation marks around multiple names to avoid partial name results i.e. "Ann Marie Double Surname"
- To avoid tense/synonym changes in results precede names with "+" i.e. Stephen +Hawking
- Many social networking members include middle and maiden names
- Many private members may still be users of public groups or fans of pages. Precede your search with pages or groups
- Try including the school or company from where you knew this person
- Include known hobby/spare time keywords to enhance the search
- Include their job title, as they may have listed this in Bios etc
- Include their previous employers
- Popular Web Venues of people are forums, try including forum or message-board in your search
- If known, include any social networking nicknames/usernames as these may be listed on personal/other sites
